"Spider" Hart and Gillian Hurley, Owner built 1994 - 5, Karrinyup, WA,
Architect Gérard Siero 1993 - 4;

This is a universal access house for a paraplegic client, designed to provide all necessary support while integrating the support features into the design so as not to be obviously so. The client′s condition rendered him highly sensitive to temperature. Passive solar design was augmented by solar hot water in floor heating (gas boosted). The house was oriented both for northern sun and an easterly view over adjoining parkland.

Project Architect: Client liaison, submissions and proposals, briefing and research, interactive design and design development, consultant coordination, contract documentation, detailing, special materials and construction, construction observation and on-going guidance to owner-builder.
