Architect Gérard Siero has worked in architecture,
landscape and environment since 1970.

Gérard studied architectural drafting and then architecture while working in architectural practices and government. He graduated with 1st class honours and the NSW Institute of Technology′s Medal for Architecture in 1980. After working on Parliament House Canberra, teaching in Papua New Guinea, and freelance work in WA, Gérard began private practice in 1987. He has worked on projects ranging from ecological shire planning, to civic and industrial buildings, churches and schools, and private houses, emphasising ecological design for sustainability, economy, quality of life and delight, in thoughtful architecture integrated with landscape.

Through extensive public speaking, practice, role as Archicentre State Manager and active involvement in the Australian Institute of Architects, Gérard has earned a reputation for sustainable architecture, innovation and professional integrity. His is a trusted voice for WA building industry consumer advocacy, advising on housing and built environment issues. At Universities, summer schools, technical colleges, conferences and public seminars, and in hundreds
of media articles about design and construction, Gérard has explained and promoted sustainability and environmental awareness - design for life.

Gérard is undertaking doctoral studies in ecological urbanism and architecture at the Australian Urban Design Research Centre (AUDRC), School of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts (ALVA), University of Western Australia (UWA).
